What we can actually count
Numbers on this page are counted from our own catalogue, not estimated. Where we cannot count something, we have left it out rather than round it up.
Why it is counted this way
Every piece in the shop is attributed to the person who made it. That means the makers on this page are not a claim we typed — they are the makers actually behind the catalogue, and the number moves only when the work does.
What we do not measure
We do not publish a figure for livelihoods supported, families reached, or income generated, and we are not going to estimate one. We know how many makers we work with and what we have bought from them; turning that into an impact number would require assumptions we have not made and cannot show you.
The honest version is the one above: a small number of named people, in named places, working in crafts you can see on the pieces.
